Membership Terms and Conditions

By becoming a member of the Capital District Business Alliance (“CDBA”), you (“Member”) agree to the following terms and conditions. These guidelines are designed to ensure a professional, supportive, and collaborative experience for all members.


1. Eligibility

Membership is open to business owners, entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives, nonprofit organizations, and other professionals aligned with CDBA’s mission.

Members must provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.


2. Membership Fee

Membership may be free or have a designated fee as specified during registration.

Paid membership fees, if applicable, must be paid in full at the time of registration and, if recurring, on the designated renewal date.


3. Member Benefits

Members receive access to:

Networking opportunities with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives.

Exclusive events, workshops, and educational resources.

Promotional opportunities and exposure through CDBA channels.

Support, guidance, and resources to help grow their business.


4. Member Responsibilities

Members agree to:

Represent themselves and their organization professionally in all CDBA interactions.

Participate in events, programs, and initiatives as appropriate.

Respect fellow members, partners, and CDBA staff.

Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and CDBA policies.

Maintain confidentiality regarding any sensitive information shared within the network.


5. Code of Conduct

CDBA promotes a safe, inclusive, and supportive community.

Harassment, discrimination, or behavior detrimental to the community is prohibited.

CDBA reserves the right to revoke membership for violations of the code of conduct.


6. Use of CDBA Branding

Members may reference their membership in personal marketing materials only with written approval from CDBA.

All CDBA logos and branding are the property of CDBA and may not be used without permission.


7. Term and Termination

Membership begins upon approval and continues until voluntarily canceled by the member or terminated by CDBA.

CDBA may terminate membership for breaches of these terms, unethical behavior, or actions harmful to the community. Membership fees, if applicable, are non-refundable upon termination.


8. Liability

CDBA is not responsible for any loss, damage, or disputes arising from member participation in events, programs, or networking activities.

Members agree to hold CDBA harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from their own actions or omissions.


9. Privacy

CDBA respects member privacy and will manage personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Member contact information may be shared with other members only with consent.


10. Amendments

CDBA reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Members will be notified of significant changes, and continued membership constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.


11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Complete Agreement and Acceptance

This Membership Agreement constitutes the complete and entire agreement between the Member and the Capital District Business Alliance (CDBA) regarding membership participation and supersedes any prior discussions or understandings, whether written or oral.

By enrolling as a member, the Member acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.
