Membership Terms & Conditions

Membership is open to businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations located within the Capital District, including all counties, towns, and cities in the region. Membership is contingent upon meeting the eligibility criteria outlined by the Capital District Business Alliance.

The annual membership fee is $97 and is non-refundable. It will automatically renew each year, and you may cancel at any time before the renewal date. Fees are subject to change. 

Members of the Capital District Business Alliance are entitled to the following benefits:

• Access to networking events and business mixers.
• Marketing opportunities to promote their business through Alliance channels.
• Educational resources, workshops, and training programs.
• Participation in member-exclusive events and collaborations.
• Discounts or access to special offers provided by partner organizations.

These benefits may be updated or modified by the Capital District Business Alliance at any time, and members will be notified of any significant changes.

By accepting membership, members agree to:

• Actively participate in events and initiatives organized by the Capital District Business Alliance.
• Uphold the organization's Code of Conduct, which promotes professionalism, collaboration, and respect within the business community.
• Support and embody the core values of the Capital District Business Alliance, including integrity, innovation, and community engagement.
• Abide by the rules, policies, and decisions set forth by the organization.

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in suspension or termination of membership, subject to the discretion of the Capital District Business Alliance.

The Capital District Business Alliance respects the privacy of its members. Personal and business data collected will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and privacy policies. By joining the organization, members consent to:

• Receive communications related to membership (including SMS, email, and phone notifications).
• The collection, use, and storage of their personal data for membership purposes, such as event invitations, newsletters, and updates. Members may opt-out of specific communications or update their data preferences at any time by contacting the Capital District Business Alliance.

Membership is valid for one (1) year from the date of acceptance. The membership period begins upon formal approval of the application and payment of the membership fee. Renewal terms and instructions will be provided to members prior to the expiration of their membership period.

The Capital District Business Alliance makes no representations or warranties regarding the benefits or services provided as part of membership. The Alliance's liability is limited to the extent permitted by law, and it is not liable for any damages arising from participation in events, use of resources, or communication with other members. Members participate at their own risk.

These Membership Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Capital District Business Alliance operates. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration, where appropriate, in accordance with the dispute resolution policies of the Capital District Business Alliance.

The Capital District Business Alliance reserves the right to modify or update these Membership Terms and Conditions at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated to members in advance via email or other preferred contact methods. Continued membership after changes to the Terms and Conditions will be deemed acceptance of the modified terms.

Membership is non-transferable and may not be shared, sold, or assigned to another individual or business entity. Membership benefits are exclusively available to the member to whom the membership was granted and cannot be used by third parties without prior approval from the Capital District Business Alliance.
